gspc-mill — the FREE coverage engine

A HuggingFace Docker Space (free CPU-basic) that runs the estate's coverage loop forever at $0:

discover  ->  probe (reachability)  ->  grade (free inference)  ->  stage  ->  [owner OIDC] sign

It is a faithful port of councilof-ai/scripts/auto-eat/ (discover/probe) plus a free-inference GSPC grader that mirrors board_v2.py — swapping the pod's local Ollama for free APIs (Groq / Cerebras / OpenRouter-free / NVIDIA NIM / Gemini) and, optionally, HF ZeroGPU for a small open model.

Why it cannot lie (structural honesty)

—No signing key on this Space. Every staged card carries sig_ed25519=null, state="queued". A subject is MEASURED only after the existing GHA-OIDC path signs it (/api/board-sign, workflow-allowlisted). The Space is structurally unable to mark MEASURED.
—LIVE = reachable/resolvable only — never a grade. GSPC score, weights integrity, tool behaviour all stay unmeasured.
—A grade is a deterministic score (temperature 0, deterministic label parse, canaries excluded, Wilson CI, n reported) — still UNMEASURED until signed.
—Empty cell = "—", never a zero. No card = no MEASURED. Counts come from live probes/grades; nothing is invented.
—Durability first. The container disk is never the record. Output lands on an HF dataset (append-only) and on the GitHub auto-eat-feed branch. /tmp state is only a resumable cache.

2. Set Space secrets (Settings → Variables and secrets → New secret)

Optional tuning variables (not secret): MILL_INTERVAL (900), MILL_PER_SOURCE (200), MILL_MAX_PROBE (1000), MILL_CAP_PER_AXIS (40), MILL_MAX_GRADES (9), MILL_TARGETS (JSON list of {"provider","model"} to grade — otherwise one free default model per active provider).

3. Keep it awake on the free tier (the honest catch)

A free CPU-basic Space sleeps after 48 h of no inbound HTTP. The background loop keeps running while awake, but to survive 30 days unattended either:

—(free) point a free uptime pinger (cron-job.org / UptimeRobot) at https://csoai-gspc-mill.hf.space/healthz every ~30 min, or
—(Team plan) run it on persistent hardware / ZeroGPU (no sleep).

4. Sign a batch (the ONE dispatch — owner, existing path)

The Space only stages. To turn staged atoms into signed MEASURED cards, use the existing OIDC signer (no new authority):

After deploy, signed cards appear at /signed/ and are appended to csoai/gspc-hub-cards by the existing pipeline. Verify with /verify.

Honest limits (what free infra genuinely can and cannot do)

—Reachability lane (discover/probe): fully free, genuinely always-on. Keyless, stdlib-only, CPU-basic is plenty. This climbs DISCOVERED/LIVE with no keys.
—Grade lane: free for models a free API serves. Groq/Cerebras/NIM host large open models (Llama-70B class) at $0 — those model×axis cells grade for free. Throughput is rate-limited, so covered% climbs slowly (a grind, by design).
—Closed frontier models (GPT / Claude / Grok / Gemini-Pro): owner-gated. They need a paid OpenRouter key. Absent = the row stays UNMEASURED (never guessed).
—ZeroGPU (Team plan): hosts a small open model (≤~30B 4-bit, 120 s/call) for grades not covered by a free API. Bigger weights than ZeroGPU allows still need a RunPod burst — an owner step, not something free HF can do. Flagged, not faked.
