This application calculates the potential wind speed of tornadoes based on meteorological parameters with an interactive hodograph for wind shear analysis.

Parameters Explained

• —Temperature (°F): Surface air temperature
• —CAPE (J/kg): Convective Available Potential Energy; higher values indicate greater potential for strong updrafts
• —0-3km Lapse Rate (°C/km): Rate of temperature decrease with height in the 0-3km layer
• —PWAT (in): Precipitable Water; total amount of water vapor in a vertical column
• —SRH (m²/s²): Storm Relative Helicity; measures horizontal air rotation
