1Hiro-Layout is provided for research, development, engineering evaluation, productivity, and commercial use purposes. It is designed to assist with document layout analysis and page region detection for patent and technical document images. It does not provide legal advice, patent advice, patent agency services, official patent document analysis, OCR services, translation services, professional document review services, or authoritative classification of document content. For the avoidance of doubt, commercial use is permitted only to the extent allowed under the applicable license terms for the model weights, source code, documentation, and related materials.2 3Predictions or outputs generated by this model, including bounding boxes, class labels, confidence scores, layout regions, page structure, or derived downstream results, may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, unstable, or unsuitable for legal, technical, commercial, regulatory, archival, accessibility, customer-facing, or professional use. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and validating all inputs, predictions, and outputs before relying on them for patent filing, prosecution, litigation, licensing, transactions, regulatory submissions, business decisions, compliance workflows, or any other professional purpose.4 5Users must ensure that they have all necessary rights, permissions, and legal bases to process any documents, images, annotations, or derived data with this model. Do not use this model to process confidential information, trade secrets, personal information, unpublished patent applications, invention disclosures, client materials, proprietary document collections, benchmark datasets, evaluation datasets, or third-party materials unless you are authorized to do so and have assessed all applicable legal, privacy, data security, confidentiality, export control, sanctions, intellectual property, and contractual obligations.6 7Users are responsible for ensuring that their access to, download, deployment, modification, redistribution, and use of this model, model weights, documentation, and any associated software comply with applicable laws and regulations, including export control, sanctions, technology import and export, data protection, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and sector-specific requirements.8 9This model does not include, and no rights are granted to, any proprietary patent corpus, benchmark dataset, training dataset, evaluation dataset, annotation dataset, confidential client document, unpublished patent application, invention disclosure, or other third-party or proprietary material, unless expressly stated otherwise. Benchmark results are provided for transparency only and may not reflect performance on all real-world documents, domains, languages, scan qualities, page layouts, or deployment environments.10 11This model is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the maintainers and contributors shall not be liable for any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or other consequences arising from the use of this model, model weights, associated software, documentation, or any outputs generated by them.12
